The waters outside Valdez are filled with various types of whales. Although no tour company can guarantee a sighting, it would be a shame not to try. And sometimes you beat the beauty of a jumping humpback whale. They make the Prince William Sound a part of their annual summer trek. Humpbacks ar baleen feeders, consuming nearly a ton of food a day. Humpbacks average 45 feet and weigh 35-40 tons. Shot made with Nikon D3000/300 mm tele lens.
